The Colour out of Space is one of the more tragic stories in Lovecraft's portfolio. It's also one of my favorites.

I love how you chose to use white and grays for the 'Colour'. An absence of color to represent a color no man has seen before is a great work around and conveys that 'Gray' result left by the thing when it was done with the family and the farmlands of the Blast Heath.

Kind of reminds me of the art style from Arkham Asylum! I totally love this. You should make Lovecraft graphic novels. <3

The Colour Out of Space is perhaps my favorite Lovecraft story so far, and this... is almost exactly how I pictured it. Brilliant!

This is actually the best pic of "the color". Last time I read colours out of space I imagined it look like that.

Since i'm russian and read this story in russian language, i remember about color of the... er, Color. It's about "Not like any other color that people knows". And now we have black and white colors here, but... when i look at this, simply one question - what is that? o_O

I mean, nobody can draw the Color in the way Lovecraft means. But here is one of the best explanations of visuals, ftw!

Nice. Faved. And sorry for my grammar.

If I remember correctly and I think I do sense I saw this the other day at work but this is a cover of a book. Its not a Lovecraft book but it has Mythos stuff in it. Cant remember the name of it though.

Perfectly gothic! The unholy, eerie, twisting horror of that particular tale will always give me the creeps. You do a wonderful job reflecting that in this. The black tendrils and the crumbling trees were a nice touch.

this is an interesting depiction, and certainly quite an adventurous one, considering Lovecrafts "Colour Out of Space" bore no likeness to any sort of color (prime or hue) in the whole of the earthly spectrum. That in mind, you have certainly conveyed a rather sinister portrayal of the dying, poisoned and bewitched vision of the Blasphemous Heath, where the burn of the alien presence marked most. The tentacles/hairs throw me off, however, which is why I wonder if you used the name simply for name value to better express an appraoch to an Alien subject in Lovecrafts universe. That is all. Your style of the wisping, shadow like images remind me of various styles of dream, harbored in such realms as the mysterious open gates of Hypnagogia. This, melted away near the top by the penetrating nightmare of the alien presence, certainly accomplishes the contrast so often sought by Lovecraftian illustrative pursuits, as well as homages Lovecrafts own use of contrasting horrors with every day reality. this, you could say is probably the best thing you can hope to accomplish with such an effort. thank you.

You perfectly captured the idea of the marauding obscurity of the story
